Starting next week, Saturday Skool will be a joint venture between Skool Projekt and Skool Workshop (A Consulting Firm) bringing you weekly guidance about behavioral economics. One edition of Saturday Skool will be free to all subscribers (typically the first Saturday of the month), and every other edition will be for paid subscribers only (upgrade here).

 

What is Behavioral Economics?
Behavioral economics combines psychology, sociology, and economics to explain how people and businesses make decisions. By understanding this, you can make smarter choices—whether you're a business owner or a consumer.

 

Key Concepts in Behavioral Economics:

Behavioral economics examines how people make decisions through concepts like cognitive biases, bounded rationality, social preferences, and framing effects. Cognitive biases, such as anchoring, loss aversion, and overconfidence, lead to systematic errors. Bounded rationality reflects our limited time and resources, often resulting in "satisficing" rather than optimizing. Social preferences show how norms, fairness, and reciprocity shape decisions, while framing effects reveal how the presentation of choices—like a "90% survival rate" versus "10% mortality rate"—can influence perceptions. These insights help explain the complexities behind human decision-making.
